‘Servant,’ With Delaware County Connections, Filming Its 3rd Season

By

M. Night Shyamalan’s “Servant” is being filmed in Philadelphia this week for its third season.

The Apple TV series has been filmed in Delaware County and Philadelphia for its first two seasons, writes Pat Ralph for PhillyVoice.

Interior sets were built at a former paint factory in Bethel.  Exteriors were shot in Center City.

Handling locations for the series is the Garnet Valley company, Uncle George Productions, LLC.

Season three shooting started in March with some scenes on the Ocean City, NJ  boardwalk.

This week, filming moves to Rittenhouse Square and Fitler Square.

The COVID-19 pandemic delayed second season shooting last March but it resumed this past September.

M. Night Shyamalan is a Montgomery County native and his Chester County-based production company, Blinding Edge Pictures, is involved in the production.

“For ‘Servant,’ placing it right in the center of the city on Spruce Street was a big deal,” Shyamalan said. “All the ideas of what it’s like to walk through the city, or what it’s like to live on that street, are from people that I know. There’s an authenticity to it.”

“Servant” follows a Philly couple, Dorothy and Sean Turner, who are coping with the tragic loss of their 13-week old infant son.

Viewership for “Servant” more than doubled in Season 2.
