Sarah Megan Thomas, a Haverford native, wrote, produced, and co-stars in A Call To Spy, a new historical drama about three women who worked as spies during the Second World War, writes Ukee Washington for CBS Philly.

“I grew up in Haverford, I was born on Lombard Street, huge, huge Eagles fan,” said Thomas. “Went to Shipley in Gladwyne. My husband is a Dallas Cowboys fan, which is a real problem in this household.”

When she is not making plans for Eagles’ game days, Thomas is busy making movies. In A Call To Spy, she plays Virginia Hall, one of the women recruited by Churchill for his new spy agency. Stana Katic of Castle fame plays Vera Atkins and Radhika Apte plays Noor Inayat Khan.

“It’s basically the hidden figures of the spy world,” said Thomas. “A Call To Spy revolves around three female spies from different nationalities, from different religions, who united to resist a common evil.”

At its core she said, “this movie is about the power of the individual because these were civilians.”
