For PA, New COVID-19 Positive Cases Drops Below 2,000 for Monday

Pennsylvania’s daily COVID-19 caseload appeared to drop below 2,000 for the first time in weeks Monday when the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 1,914 new positive cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state also reported no new COVID-19 deaths statewide Monday, with the current death toll at 25,688.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, April 19, that there were 1,914 additional cases of COVID-19 statewide between Sunday, April 18, and Monday, April 19. The current statewide total of COVID-19 cases is 1,109291.

County Data

No daily county or municipal statistics in Delaware County regarding positive COVID-19 cases or COVID-19-related deaths have been available from the Chester County Health Department since Friday, April 16.

The health department reports that weekly COVID-19 cases overall have risen in the past four weeks.

There were 1,249 positive cases reported for the week of April 9 to April 15. The week before, April 2 to April 8, saw a slight drop in new cases, at 1,093. Numbers were higher the week of March 26 to April 1, with 1,119 new positive cases.

Finally, the week of March 12 to March 18 saw only 729 new positive cases.

Total number of COVID-19 cases for the county, as of Friday, April 16, was 44,683. County COVID deaths, as last reported April 16, was 1,365.
