With many buyers looking for a home in the Delaware County housing market, many are finding there’s not enough inventory, reducing the time houses spend on the market, writes Cynthia Henry for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The typical home for sale in many zip codes stays on the market for a week or even less. Still, some areas are in more demand than others, leading over places where homes still remain on the market for a month or longer.

In the Delaware County housing market, ZIP Codes 19061 (Marcus Hook) and 19081 (Swarthmore) were the hottest markets in January and February. Houses were snatched up within five days on average, compared to 40 and 8 days a year ago, respectively.

ZIP Codes 19033 (Folsom,) 19036 (Glenolden,) 19083 (Havertown,) and 19008 (Broomall) are close behind with an average of six days on the market.

Homes in the Delaware County housing market were on the market for an 8-day average in ZIP Codes 19087 (Wayne,) 19010 (Bryn Mawr,) 19063 (Media,) 19086 (Wallingford,) and 19015 (Brookhaven,) among others.

Meanwhile, homes in ZIP Code 19079 (Sharon Hill) are selling within 20 days, a decline compared to 15 days a year ago.
