There’s Still 5% Surges in COVID-19 Cases for Delaware County Zip Codes, but Not as Many

Though some Zip codes in Delaware County still saw COVID-19 cases surge 5% or above for the week prior to April 14, there was a slight improvement.  

Several more Zip codes reported increases of only 2% or less, write Sean Adams and Megan Lavey-Heaton for the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

For the week prior to April 14, four Zip codes had increases of 5% or more. 

Zip code 19061 (Boothwyn, Linwood, Marcus Hook, Trainer) had a 5.6% increase, with 78 new cases for a total of 1,471.

Zip code 19015 (Chester and Brookaven) had a 5.34% increase, with 57 new cases for a total of 1,124.

Zip code 19316 (Chadds Ford) had a 5.34% increase, with 25 new cases for a total of 493.

Zip code 19013 (Chester Township, Chester and Eddystone) had a 5.28% increase, with 139 new cases for a total of 2,773.

Three Zip codes had a 4% or higher increase in COVID-19 cases. They are:

19032 (Folcroft) had a 4.63% increase.

19029 (Lester, Essington)  had a 4.62% increase.

19087 (Chesterbrook, St. David’s, Strafford, Radnor, Wayne) had a 4% increase.

The Zip codes with the lowest increases went to:

19033 (Folsom) had a 1.4% increase, with 9 new cases for a total of 651.

19008 (Broomall) had a 1.1% increase, with 18 new cases for 1,656.

19373 (Thornton) had a .10% increase, with 1 new case for a total of 287.

19319 (Cheyney) had no statistical increase ,with 1 new case for a total of 22.

 These latest numbers are compiled by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
