New COVID-19 Cases Hit 150 on Thursday, March 11, in Delaware County

There were four new COVID-19-related deaths reported Thursday, March 11 in Delaware County:

1 in Middletown

1 in Upper Darby

1 in Darby Borough

1 in Lansdowne

The Chester County Health Department is reporting a total of 1,298 fatalities.

Of those, 801 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

There were 155 new positive COVID-19 cases in Delaware County reported Thursday, March 11. Total cases are now 39,268.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 1,108, or 9.63 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,890 cases reported, or 7.10 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 851 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 209,795 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 90.99 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Thursday, March 11, are:

  • Under 10: 1,571 cases
  • 10 to 19: 4.149 cases
  • 20 to 29: 6,584 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 5,731 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 5,344 cases
  • 50 to 59: 6,120 cases
  • 60 to 69: 4,788 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,478 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,499 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, March 11, that there were 2,652 new cases of COVID-19 statewide.  Total cases now number  958,382.

The state is reporting a total of 24,990 COVID-19 deaths as of  March 11.
