Here’s a Little Friendly Fashion Advice From Hassis Men’s Shop in Newtown Square

Peter Marziano, the general manager of the Hassis Men’s Shop in Newtown Square knows a few things about men’s fashions, writes Meslissa Jacobs for Main Line Today.

The custom suiting and upscale casual wear men’s store at 3335 West Chester Pike has been part of the Delaware County landscape since 1968.

Marziano has been with Hassis since 1979, starting when he was a sophomore at Villanova University.

“I call myself a clothing psychologist,” he says. “Men tell me their style-related hopes and goals, and we figure out what they need. Then we make it happen.”

The most common fashion error is wearing outdated styles—like pleated pants and pant cuffs.

Men also have trouble adjusting their fit.  These days, shirts are cut slimmer so men’s coat lengths are often too long .

So what’s in fashion?  For trendy colors and patterns, think windowpanes, not pinstripes, and a blue blazer that’s brighter than navy or has a pattern.

The hottest accessory is the pocket square.

“Even before the pandemic, a hip guy wears a suit, no tie and a pocket square,” he said.
