Where are COVID-19 Cases Increasing the Most in Delaware County?

The ZIP code, 19085, is home to Villanova, which saw the lowest increase in COVID-19 cases.

It was status quo Jan. 20 to Jan. 27 as far as which Delaware County ZIP codes are seeing the biggest increase in COVID-19 cases this week, write Sean Adams and Megan Lavey-Heaton for the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

The ZIP Code 19317, home to Chadds Ford, continued to see the highest increase, 9.8 percent, in cases for the seven days prior to Jan. 27.

There were 29 new cases reported in that time period with 235 total cases as of Jan. 27.

The ZIP code 19022, containing Crum Lynne, part of Chester and Eddystone, saw the next highest increase, at 9.33 percent. It had 18 new cases between Jan. 20 and Jan. 27 with 211 total cases as of Jan. 27.

ZIP code 19014, containing Aston and Chester, had the third highest percentage increase, at 9.21 percent. It had 82 new cases reported in the week, with 972 total cases as of Jan. 27.

The fourth largest increase was in ZIP code 19061, at 8.42 percent. Boothwyn, Linwood, Ogden, Marcus Hook and Trainer reside in that ZIP code and saw 69 new cases between Jan. 20 and 27, with 688 total cases as of Jan. 27.

The Villanova ZIP code, 19085, continued to show the least increase in COVID-19 cases, at only 1.67 percent. It had four new cases between Jan. 20 and 27 with 244 total cases as of Jan. 27.

Second lowest was ZIP code 19079, containing Sharon Hill. It had a 2.66 percent increase, with 15 new cases and a total of 578 cases as of Jan. 27.

Third lowest was ZIP Code 19050 at 3.14 percent.  It contains the towns of East Lansdowne, Lansdowne and Yeadon. There was a 3.14 percent increase this week, with 57 new cases and a total of 1,875 cases as of Jan. 27.

Finally, ZIP code 19043, where Holmes resides, had a 3.42 percent increase, six new cases and 181 total cases as of Jan. 27.
