62 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware County, 5 Additional Deaths

There were 62 additional cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Thursday, July 30, by the Chester County Health Department, bringing the total number of cases to 8,656.

Five additional COVID-19 deaths were reported, with the total in the county now at 730.

Of those, 581 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 469 cases, affecting 4.09 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,409, affecting 1.7 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 253 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 58,106 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 77.38 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups as of July 30 are:

  • Under 10: 6 cases
  • 10 to 19: 370 cases
  • 20 to 29: 1,300 cases
  • 30 to 39: 1,200 cases
  • 40 to 49: 1,200 cases
  • 50 to 59: 1,400 cases
  • 60 to 69: 1,200 cases
  • 70 to 79: 739 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,200 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, July 30, that there were 860 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 111,078.

There were 14 additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the state total to 7,176.
