Average Daily New COVID-19 Cases Stayed Below 100 Over the Weekend in Delaware County

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Delaware County since Friday, Feb. 19.

The COVID-19 death toll stands at 1,261 as of Monday, Feb. 22.

Of total deaths reported, 797 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

The following is a breakdown of COVID-19 fatalities by municipality as reported Feb. 22:

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

There were 183 new COVID-19 cases reported Monday in Delaware County since Friday, Feb. 19. Total cases now stand at 37,201.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 1,070, or 9.3 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,572 cases reported, or 6.71 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 806 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 202,451 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 88.59 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Monday, Feb. 22, are:

  • Under 10: 1,461 cases
  • 10 to 19: 3,801 cases
  • 20 to 29: 6,278 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 5,448 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 5,047 cases
  • 50 to 59: 5,805 cases
  • 60 to 69: 4,581 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,355 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,422 cases

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Feb. 22 that there were 6,245 new COVID-19 cases statewide since Friday, Feb. 19. Total cases are now at 915,018.

 There were 134 additional COVID-19 deaths reported for a new total of 23,614.
