18 COVID-19 Deaths Reported Feb. 10 in Delaware County in Updated Health Department Report

Eighteen additional COVID-19 deaths have been reported as of Wednesday, Feb. 10 in Delaware County.

The COVID-19 death toll in Delaware County stands at 1,230 as of Wednesday.

Of total deaths reported, 786 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

Four deaths were reported in Upper Chichester, 3 deaths were reported in Chester, 2 in Lansdowne, 2 in Newtown, 1 death was reported in Miiddletown, 1 in Marple, 1 in Haverford, 1 in Upper Darby, 1 in Darby Borough, 1 in Ridley, 1 in Aston.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

The health department reported 476 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Wednesday, Feb. 10, with total cases now at 36,066.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 1,047, or 9.1 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 5,413 cases reported, or 6.5 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 794 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 198,239 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 86.53 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Wednesday, Feb. 10, are:

  • Under 10: 1,371 cases
  • 10 to 19: 3,626 cases
  • 20 to 29: 6,112 cases  
  • 30 to 39: 5,275 cases  
  • 40 to 49: 4,901 cases
  • 50 to 59: 5,655 cases
  • 60 to 69: 4,474 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,285 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,364 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Feb. 10 that there were 3,378 new  COVID-19 cases reported statewide. Total cases are now at 880,291.

 There were 125 additional deaths reported Feb. 10, for a new total of 22,745.
