The Frank C. Videon Funeral Home in Broomall and the Logan Funeral Homes in Exton, Havertown and South Philadelphia have become one, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

“The two firms have announced their decision to merge to better serve families with convenience and affordability,” the Logan-Videon Funeral & Cremation Services announced in a press release. “The merger is a very comfortable fit, as we share so many common priorities.”

Logan Funeral Homes have been in the Philadelphia area for 125 years.

The Frank C. Videon Funeral Home started in 1982 at 2001 Sproul Road in Broomall.

The merger keeps both firms locally owned and family operated while making it easier to stay technologically current.

Costs have gone up for funeral services, for expenses like vehicles, caskets and professional staffing.

The best strategy to cope with increased expenses is consolidation.

“Merging the businesses will allow us to take advantage of the benefits of scale,” Logan President William Logan explained. “Our combined staff of experienced funeral directors and administrators will continue to offer a full spectrum of services and options, while controlling our cost.”
