National Geographic: COVID-19 Cases in December in Delaware County Continue to Climb

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Delaware County continued to increase in December, despite a slight dip near the start of the month, according to a map published by National Geographic.

In the last two weeks, the county has recorded 4,038 new coronavirus cases or one reported case out of every 140 people.

That is an increase compared to the last two weeks of November when the county recorded 3,781 new cases or one for every 149 people.

However this is in the middle of the pack in the numbers of reported cases in the region per capita.

Sadly the number of deaths has also increased.

There were 68 reported COVID-19-related deaths in the last two weeks in Delaware County or one in every 8,287 people.

During the last two weeks of November, the county had 35 deaths or one in every 16,101 people.

Overall, the county has recorded 30,337 confirmed cases of the virus and 993 deaths. A month ago, those numbers were at 21,953 confirmed cases with 873 reported deaths.
