Instead of closing its doors for good, the long-running John Troncelliti Barbershop in Wynnewood has found its new home in Devon, writes Max Bennett for the Patch.

The new location is expected to open sometime this month, about eight miles away from its current location in the Wynnewood Shopping Center.

Owner John Troncelliti said the original plan was to close the store at the start of October when the lease was due to expire. However, his landlord granted the barbershop an extension to a month-to-month lease.

But over the following weeks, Troncelliti and his team formulated a long term plan to continue providing barber services and eventually decided on the Devon location.

The new store is located indirectly across from Devon Whole Foods Market and Starbucks and will offer free shopfront parking.

The owner said that the main reason this move happened is the barbershop’s mainstay of loyal customers.

“But the determination to continue on was made due to the outpouring of support from all our loyal customers, who wanted our barbershop not to fade away into history as a local icon,” he said.
