County COVID-19 Cases Now Reported at Over 26,000

The Pennsylvania Department of Health is reporting 718 additional cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County between Friday, Dec. 18 and Sunday, Dec. 20.

 The Chester County Health Department reported 25,343 total positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County on Friday.  As of Sunday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 26,061 cases.

County and municipal COVID statistics were unavailable from the Chester County Health Department over the weekend.

On Friday, the Chester County Health Department reported 925 COVID-19-related deaths in the county.

 Of those, 649 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sunday, Dec.20, that there were 17,047  new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Friday, Dec. 18, bringing the statewide total to 555,702.

There were 316 additional COVID-19 deaths reported statewide Sunday, Dec. 20 since statistics were last reported Friday, Dec. 18, for a total of 13,924.
