240 Cases Added to Delaware County COVID-19 Case Total Since Saturday

The total number of COVID_19 cases continued to climb in Delaware County, with 18,412 cases reported as of Monday, Nov. 23.

On Saturday, the county total case count was 18,172, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Four residents have died from COVID-19 since statistics were last reported Friday. The residents were from Haverford, two were from Upper Darby and one was from Radnor.

Total deaths now number 842.

Of those, 634 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of the population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 712, or 6.2 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases, with 2,838 cases reported, or 3.4 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 412 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 152,224 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 69.58 percent recovery rate.

Cases are broken down by age groups, as reported Monday, Nov. 23 are:

  • Under 10: 506 cases
  • 10 to 19: 1,699 cases
  • 20 to 29: 3,381 cases
  • 30 to 39: 2,652 cases
  • 40 to 49: 2,503 cases
  • 50 to 59: 2,877 cases
  • 60 to 69: 2,138 cases
  • 70 to 79: 1,196 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,458

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Nov. 23, that there were 4,762 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 314,401.

There were 28 new deaths reported statewide for
Monday, Nov. 23, with total deaths listed at 9,870.
