New COVID-19 Cases in Delaware County Jump Up by 122 for Monday, for a Total of 12,510

The number of new COVID-19 cases for Delaware County jumped up to 122 on Monday, based on the latest figures from the Chester County Health Department.

On Sunday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported a total of 12,510 cases in the county.

By Monday, the Chester County Health Department was reporting a total of 12,632 cases.

This is the highest number of single day new cases since Oct. 13, when 123 new cases were reported.

However, no new deaths were reported, with the total number of COVID-19-related deaths in the county remaining at 804.

Of those, 617 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 558 cases, affecting 4.86 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,923, affecting 2.32 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 311 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 122, 913 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 83.84 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Oct. 19, that there were 1,103 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 183,315.

There were 8 new deaths reported statewide as of
Monday, Oct. 19 since these statistics were last reported Sunday, with total deaths listed at 8,500.
