Jabz Boxing—fitness for women, is opening up franchises in Ridley Park and Aston, with another planned for Havertown, writes Pete Bannan for the Daily Times.

The Arizona women’s fitness club was started in 2012 by Archbishop Prendergast High School graduate Kimberlee White and business partner Len Hayko.

There are 18 locations in Arizona and one in New Jersey. The Aston franchise is owned by Jennifer August of Springfield who went to school with White in Norwood.

August is a police sergeant at Drexel University who has known White since kindergarten.  They lost touch but reconnected on social media.

“Kim had reached out to me about bringing a studio to Delco. It just started from there,” said August. “Now our location is the most successful out of all 21 locations.”

August wanted to get out of police work and spend more time with her family.

The soon-to-open franchise in Havertown is owned by Shannon Crowley, who went to Archbishop Prendergast with White and August.

“You know Delco – everyone is grouped together,” laughed August.

Crowley was hooked after trying her first Jabz class.

Jabz offers boxing for fitness, not fighting, with 16 stations of high intensity training.
