There were 72 new cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday, Oct. 13 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Sunday. Total number of cases is now 12,257, according to the Chester County Health Department.

No additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported. The total deaths in the county remain at 800.

Of those, 616 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 549 cases, affecting 4.79 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,866, affecting 2.25 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The county has had 118, 200 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 83.55 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Oct. 13, that there were 1,342 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Monday, bringing the statewide total to 174,646.

There were 16 new deaths reported statewide as of
Tuesday, Oct. 13 since these statistics were last reported Monday, with total deaths listed at 8,384.
