51 New Cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County for Sept. 30, 1 Death Listed

There were 51 new cases of COVID-19 reported Wednesday, Sept. 30 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Tuesday. Total number of cases is now 11,572according to the Chester County Health Department.

One additional resident in Darby Township lost their life to COVID-19. Total county deaths are now at 796.

Of those, 614 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 546 cases, affecting 4.76 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,780, affecting 2.14 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The following are the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Tuesday, Sept. 29, listed by municipality in descending order of caseload.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Friday, Sept. 25, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 295 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 107,871 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 84.28 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Sept. 30 compared to Sept. 29, are:

  • Under 10: 199cases (up 3)
  • 10 to 19: 908 cases (up 10)
  • 20 to 29: 2,062 cases (up 10)
  • 30 to 39: 1,579 cases (up 5)
  • 40 to 49: 1,498 cases (up 6)
  • 50 to 59: 1,770 cases (up 11)
  • 60 to 69: 1,411 cases (up 2)
  • 70 to 79: 851 cases (up 3)
  • 80 and over: 1,293 cases (up 1)

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 30, that there were 1,153 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 158,967.

There were 19 new deaths reported statewide as of
Tuesday, Sept. 29 since these statistics were last reported Monday, with total deaths listed at 8,142.
