James Pinckney and Tess Scott, brokers who specialize in restaurants for West Chester-based Zommick McMahon Commercial Real Estate, helped local restaurateur Andy Elghawy find the perfect location for his soon-to-open, stainless-steel diner, writes Patricia Talorico for the Wilmington News Journal.

“Providing that everything goes to schedule, I intend to open in October,” Elghawy said of Brandywine Diner in Talleyville, Del. He also co-owns the Springfield Diner on Baltimore Pike in Delaware County.

The lease for the space that once was home to Famous Dave’s in Talleyville’s Brandywine Commons was signed in December, with the new diner already under construction.

“I have often gravitated toward retro-style feels for my previous locations, but decided to go with a more modern theme with the Brandywine Diner,” said Elghawy.

The diner will have 235 seats and be open daily from 6 AM to midnight. Originally, there were not any plans to add outdoor dining, but given the pandemic, the owner has decided to offer it.
