There were 68 new cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday, Sept. 8 for Delaware County. Total number of cases is now 10,727, according to the Chester County Health Department.
One person from Lansdowne Borough has died from complications of COVID-19. Total number of COVID-19 deaths reported in the county stand at 778 as of Tuesday.
Of those, 604 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.
Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 525 cases, affecting 4.58 percent of its 11,471 population.
Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,699, affecting 2.05 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The county has had 93,114 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 81.38 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 8, that there were 496 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Monday, bringing the statewide total to 140,359.
There were 11 new COVID-19 related deaths reported, with the total now at 7,791.
