There were 45 new cases of COVID-19 reported Thursday, Sept. 24 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Wednesday. Total number of cases is now 11,315 according to the Chester County Health Department.

No Delaware County deaths were reported, with total deaths remaining at  792.

Of those, 614 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 539 cases, affecting 4.7 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,753, affecting 2.11 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The county has had 102,638 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 83.83 percent recovery rate.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 24, that there were 853 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 153,397.

There were 17 new deaths reported statewide as of
Thursday, Sept. 24, with the total deaths listed 8,079.
