44 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Thursday in Delaware County, No New Deaths Reported

There were 44 new cases of COVID-19 reported Thursday, Sept. 10 for Delaware County. Total number of cases is now 10,806, according to the Chester County Health Department.

No additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the county for Thursday, with the total remaining at 778.

Of those, 604 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 527 cases, affecting 4.59 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,709, affecting 2.06 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 292 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 165,417 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 82.13 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Sept. 10, are :

  • Under 10: 171 cases
  • 10 to 19: 751 cases (up 12)
  • 20 to 29: 1,873 cases (up 16)
  • 30 to 39: 1,485 cases (up 6)
  • 40 to 49: 1,405 cases
  • 50 to 59: 1,673 cases (up 6)
  • 60 to 69: 1,341 cases (up 1)
  • 70 to 79: 825 cases (up 3)
  • 80 and over: 1,281 cases

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 10, that there were 587 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 141,877.

There were 15 new COVID-19 related deaths reported, with the total now at 7820.
