38 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Delaware County, Total Now at 11,004

There were 38 new cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday, Sept. 15 for Delaware County since cases were last reported Monday. Total number of cases is now 11,004, according to the Chester County Health Department.

No new COVID-related deaths were reported in the county, with the total remaining at 780.

Of those, 604 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 528 cases, affecting 4.6 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,732, affecting 2.09 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The following are the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County as of Tuesday, Sept. 15, listed by municipality in descending order of caseload.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Monday, Sept. 14, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 293 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 96,816 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 82.96 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Sept. 15, are :

  • Under 10: 174 cases
  • 10 to 19: 804 cases (up 16)
  • 20 to 29: 1,925 cases (up 46)
  • 30 to 39: 1,500 cases (up 3)
  • 40 to 49: 1,430 cases (up 3)
  • 50 to 59: 1,698 cases (up 4)
  • 60 to 69: 1,358 cases (up 3)
  • 70 to 79: 830 cases
  • 80 and over: 1,284 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Sept. 15, that there were 1,151 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since statistics were last reported Monday, bringing the statewide total to 146,214

There were 6 new deaths reported statewide as of Monday, Sept. 14, with the total deaths list at 7875.
