There were 83 additional cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Thursday, Aug. 20, by the Chester County Health Department, bringing the total number of cases to 9,950.

Two additional COVID-19-related deaths have been reported, with the total number now at 768.

Of those, 600 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 39 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 501 cases, affecting 4.37percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,577, affecting 1.9 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The county has had 78,249 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 76.62 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Aug. 20, that there were 791new cases of COVID-19 across the state since Wednesday, Aug. 19, bringing the statewide total to 126,940.

There were 15 new COVID-19 related deaths reported, with the total now at 7,538.
