52 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware County for Aug. 14, With 6 Deaths

There were 52 additional cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Friday, Aug. 14, by the Chester County Health Department, bringing the total number of cases to 9,593.

Six additional COVID-19 deaths were reported, with the total in the county remaining at 758.

Of those, 597 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 39 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 494 cases, affecting 4.31 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,528, affecting 1.84 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The following are the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County, listed by municipality in descending order of caseload, indicating which communities saw an increase in cases since Thursday, Aug. 13, the last date these statistics were reported.

There are 282 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 72,812  people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 75.31 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups as of Aug. 14 are:

  • Under 10: 6 cases
  • 10 to 19: 547 cases (up 15)
  • 20 to 29: 1,500 cases
  • 30 to 39: 1,300 cases
  • 40 to 49: 1,300 cases
  • 50 to 59: 1,500 cases
  • 60 to 69: 1,200 cases
  • 70 to 79: 773 cases (up 3)
  • 80 and over: 1,200 cases

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Aug. 14, that there were 829 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since Thursday, Aug. 13, bringing the statewide total to 122,590.

There were 36 additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the state total to 7,445.
