32 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Delaware County for Tuesday, No Additional Fatalities Reported

There were 32 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Tuesday, Aug. 25. Total number of cases is now at 10,152.

No additional COVID-19-related deaths have been reported, with the total number now listed at 769.

Of those, 602 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 39 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 510 cases, affecting 4.45 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,611, affecting 1.94 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The following are the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County, listed by municipality in descending order of caseload.

The list includes which communities saw an increase in cases based on previously unassigned cases and new cases since Monday, Aug. 24, the last date these statistics were updated.

There are 300 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 81,450 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 78.17 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups as of Aug. 25 are:

  • Under 10: 160 cases (up 1)
  • 10 to 19: 628 cases (up 5)
  • 20 to 29: 1,684 cases (up 7)
  • 30 to 39: 1,404 cases (up 3)
  • 40 to 49: 1,340 cases (up 6)
  • 50 to 59: 1,581cases (up 4)
  • 60 to 69: 1,292 cases (up 4)
  • 70 to 79: 797 cases (up 1)
  • 80 and over: 1,265 cases (up 1)

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Aug. 25, that there were 561 new cases of COVID-19 across the state since Monday, Aug. 24, bringing the statewide total to 130,035

There were 26 new COVID-19 related deaths reported, with the total now at 7,605.
