No COVID-19 Fatalities Reported in Delaware County for July 16, 46 New Cases

There were 46 new cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County reported on Thursday, July 16, bringing the county total to 7,744.

No additional COVID-19 related deaths were reported, with total deaths remaining at 717 for the county.

Of those, 574 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough has the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 443 cases, affecting 3.86 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,266, affecting 1.53 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 283 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 46,585 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 81.82  percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, July 16, that there are 781 additional cases of COVID-19 statewide since July 14, for a new total 98,446.

There were 16 additional deaths reported with the total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 at 6,973.
