A steep hill in a park next to a Ridley neighborhood created a nuisance when it became a haven for poison ivy, oak, sumac and other plants, but a unique solution was found, reports 6abc.com.

Amazing Grazing LLC, a family business out of Concordville brought in a team of 12 goats to chomp away at the problem.

“It is a really interesting concept. I would call them landscapers,” said Elizabeth Gieder, who grew up on a nearby street.

Neighbors gathered at Blackrock Park Field House to watch the goats do their stuff.

The worry was the hill would erode into their back yards, bringing the invasive plants with it.

The hill was too dangerous to landscape and treating it with chemicals threatened to wash it into the playground.

But within four days, most of the plants were eaten away.

The goats also took out young grapevine, a feeding source for spotted lanternflies.

“This is what the goats were born to do. They love to eat this heavy stuff, so it’s perfect,” said Amazing Grazing co-owner Kristin Weber.

“We can see the erosion now that comes down the hill,” said Tom Donahue, Commissioner for Ridley Township’s second ward.
