Delaware County’s new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reversed a downward trend Wednesday, June 3, with 55 cases reported. There were six deaths, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.
That brings the county total number of COVID-19 cases to 6,600, with fatalities now at 554.
The county is now showing 68.461 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 over 14 days per 100,000 people. It must achieve 50 confirmed cases over 14 days per 100,000 as part of the criteria to move to a green phase reopening.

COVID-19 deaths are now reported in 36 of the 45 municipalities of the county. Edgmont and Chadds Ford are the latest communities to report COVID-19 deaths.

There are 270 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.
Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 395 cases, affecting 3.44 percent of its 11,471 population.
Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,038, affecting 1.25 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Pennsylvania data
The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, June 3, that there are 511 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in the state, bringing the statewide total to 73,405.
There are 5,742 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 75 new deaths statewide.
The southeast region of the state, which includes Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties, has the highest number of positive confirmed cases in the state, at 47,503. The next highest number of cases in the state is in the northeast, reporting 13,240 cases.
