New COVID-19 Cases Jump to 52 for June 11 but No New Deaths Reported

There were no new COVID-19 deaths reported for Delaware County as of Thursday, June 11, however the county did see a jump of 52 new positive confirmed cases of the virus, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

That brings the total number of cases in the county to 6,863 and the total number of COVID-19 related deaths remaining at 662. Of those, 515 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes.

The county now has 52.7 new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 over 14 days per 1,000 people. The target case number is 50 as part of the criteria to move to a green phase of reopening.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 412 cases, affecting 3.59 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby continues to have the most cases, at 1,087, affecting 1.31 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 284 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 26,555 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 74 percent recovery rate.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, June 11, that there are 467 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 77,313.

There are 6,113 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 51 new deaths.
