Country Deli in Glen Mills has found a great way to help out during the pandemic and the benefactor is just down the street, writes Bob Grotz for the Daily Times.

Dawn Carroll and her husband Bryan, who operate Country Deli on Rt. 352, are offering take out to its loyal customers, but like other restaurants, its dine-in service is closed, so they’re struggling.

The couple decided to donate specially prepared takeout dishes to the Emergency Services Center three minutes further south on 352.

“I noticed that all of the hospitals were being taken care of, so we adopted the 911 center,” Dawn Carroll said. “They’ve been great customers of ours and they’ve kind of been forgotten through this.

They’re feeding about 300 first-responders, call center staff and Troop K of the Pennsylvania State Police.

They’ve also partnered with the Frontline Appreciation Group of Southeaster Pa. to feed other institutions.

“It’s a super-nice thing with all the difficult times going on now, for the small businesses to offer their support to the people that work on the front lines,” said a Trooper who asked to remain anonymous.
