Neumann University in Aston Presented Dr. Anthony Fauci With an Honorary Degree in 1990

Dr. Anthony Fauci is a household name and a recognized face as part of the  White House Task Force on COVID-19, but he also has a connection to Neumann University, reports alumni.neumann,edu.

Fauci is director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He accepted an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Neumann University (then Neumann College) in 1990.

“As a researcher, author, coauthor and editor of more than 650 scientific publications, including textbooks, Dr. Fauci, Neumann College is proud to acknowledge your contributions to the field of science and good health by conferring on you the degree of Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa,” reads an excerpt from the 1990 Neumann College commencement program.

Dr. Fauci has been director of NIAID since 1984, but he’s served the nation’s public health for more than 50 years, including as a physician with the National Institutes of Health.

His scientific work includes HIV/AIDS research and other immunodeficiencies.

Dr. Fauci attended a Catholic high school and the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Two of Neumann’s former presidents, Dr. Nan Hechenberger and Sr. Margarella O’Neill,  knew of Dr. Fauci’s work with HIV/AIDS and related drug treatments.
