Coronavirus Update: No New COVID-19 Deaths Reported in Delaware County for April 23

No new COVID-19 deaths were reported in Delaware County for Thursday, April 23. The current county death toll is listed at 122, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Of those 122 deaths, 82 occurred in a nursing home or personal care facility in the county, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The following is a breakdown of COVID-19 fatalities by descending order of community:

The county’s total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases has increased by 165 and is now at 2,963.

The virus is reported in 48 of the 49 municipalities, with no cases reported in Rutledge.

There are 1,034 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been listed.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 1508 cases, affecting 1.31 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most reported cases, at 302, affecting .36 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of midnight, April 23, that there are 1,369 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 37,053.

All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19.

The statewide total of COVID-19 deaths is currently listed as 1394.

Of those, 849 were in nursing homes and personal care facilities.
