Eight Delaware County towns are among the 29 best towns in Main Line and its western suburbs, writes Tara Behan for the Main Line Today.

Each town has a distinct personality and reputation with something different and unique to offer to its residents and visitors.

Broomall offers Marple Township’s lower taxes, affordable homes for first-time buyers, and many parks and recreational areas, while Glen Mills has experienced an explosion of retail and restaurant development along Baltimore Pike.

Haverford has many traditional properties that date back to the early 1900s, with one of its main draws being the Merion Cricket Club.

Meanwhile, Havertown boasts a lively business district with restaurants, shops, and the popular Skatium indoor ice rink.

Media offers a small-town feel, walkability, and many dining, shopping, and cultural offerings, while Newtown Square is attracting empty-nesters with the Terrazza luxury condominium complex.

St. Davids, Radnor, and Villanova are higher-education hotbeds with Villanova University, Eastern University, Cabrini College, and Valley Forge Military Academy and College.

Finally, Wayne and Strafford offer a charming and busy downtown in Wayne and a more affordable section of homes in Stafford.
