Delaware County COVID-19 Cases Now at 156 in 35 of 49 Municipalities

Delaware County reports 59 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, March 26, bringing the total in the county up to 156, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

The county reports no new fatalities. Two deaths were reported on March 25.

The virus is now being reported in 35 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Upper Darby Township leads with 25 cases as of March 26 at 4 p.m.

Eighteen additional cases were identified but not linked to specific municipalities at the time of publication.

Haverford has 14 cases. Radnor has 13 cases and Marple has nine cases.

Middletown and Nether Providence report eight cases each.

Newtown and Ridley have five cases each.

Ridley Park, Springfield, Swarthmore, Thornbury and Upper Providence report four cases each.

Morton and Upper Chichester have three cases each.

Aston, Bethel, Chester, Concord, Media, and Yeadon report two cases each.

Aldan, Brookhaven, Chadds Ford, Clifton Heights, Collingdale, Darby, Eddystone, Lansdowne, Norwood, Prospect Park, Rose Valley, Sharon Hill and Trainer all report one case each.

The county had 1,247 people test negative for the virus.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health is reporting five more deaths and 276 more positive cases of COVID-19 in the state for Thursday, March 26.

That brings the number of fatalities to 17 and the total number of statewide cases to 1,687 in 48 counties.

Two deaths have been reported in Delaware County, three deaths in Northampton, two in Allegheny County, two in Lackawana, two in Montgomery County, two in Monroe County, one in Butler County, one in Luzerne County, one in Lehigh County and one in Philadelphia County.

Philadelphia County leads with the most cases, at 402; followed by Montgomery County, at 282; and Delaware County, at 156 cases.

The state began reporting positive coronavirus cases March 6, with two cases statewide.
