Endo International, the Dublin-based pharmaceutical company that has its U.S. headquarters in Malvern, has found its new CEO in Blaise Coleman. The Widener University graduate is currently the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, a role he has been in for the last four years, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Coleman will take over as CEO and join the company’s board of directors on March 6. He will succeed Paul Campanelli, who announced he was planning to retire in November. Campanelli will continue to serve as Endo’s board chairman.

Campanelli praised the choice for his successor, calling him “uniquely qualified” to lead the company.

“His proven business leadership, extensive pharmaceutical expertise, and deep understanding of the issues facing the industry make him the ideal leader to leverage the company’s strong operating performance to drive future growth,” Campanelli said.

Before joining Endo, Coleman held leadership roles at both AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.

He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

While at Widener University, he was a Division III All-American as a football player.

Endo currently employs around 6,000 people around the globe. For the first three quarters of 2019, the company reported revenues of $2.1 billion and a net loss of $152.1 million.
