Dunwoody Village Offers Residents Opportunities to Pursue Wellness of the Mind, Body, Spirit
Newtown Square’s Dunwoody Village, one of the region’s premier continuing care retirement communities, offers its residents numerous opportunities to pursue wellness of their mind, body, and spirit, writes Leigh Stuart for Suburban Life magazine.
The community offers more activities than is possible for one person to do in one day, according to Joe and Sue Hilger. They moved to the retirement community from their Wayne home a year ago.
At their new residence, Joe spends a lot of time at the woodshop, while Sue is active in arts and crafts. Also, they both take advantage of the many opportunities to be physically active each day.
“I regularly do Pilates and yoga,” said Sue. “It’s wonderful. I’ve been very happy with that, and Joe rides a stationary bike a mile and a half every day when the weather doesn’t permit him to ride his bike outdoors.”
The community has 30 different resident-led committees covering topics as diverse as woodshop and volunteering.
The pair also enjoys venturing out into the community for the area’s cultural attractions, including museums and the orchestra.
