Two Media-based Accounting Firms Joining Forces
Two Media-based accounting firms are merging, writes Jeff Blumentthal for Philadelphia Business Journal.
Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz plans to acquire the boutique Rimmer & Jennings by year’s end. The deal adds five people to the firm’s existing 40.
Name partner Kevin Jennings will join Barsz Gowie as a partner, while Ed Rimmer, now in his 70s, will stay on as a director, supervising client relationships and work.
“We have known Ed for a long time and he was looking to merge his firm into a larger firm,” Gowie said. “So because we have that relationship, we started talking and came to an agreement. They are similar to us in that they do a lot of business consulting and tax work. And they have a loyal client base.”
Formed in 1974 as Rimmer & Co. by Rimmer, the firm changed its name to Rimmer & Jennings in 2006.
It specializes in business and real estate venture consulting and accounting and auditing, with a focus on small businesses and individuals.
Gowie said the combined firm will have more than $6 million in annual revenue.
Barsz Gowie has offices in Media office, Chadds Ford, Malvern and Lancaster.
