Ridley High School was named a winner from 13 entries around the region in PennDOT’s Philly region Paint the Plow contest, writes Max Bennett for patch.com.

Out of 13 entries from around the region, Ridley High School won Judge’s Pick in the contest.  A panel of PennDOT employees chose the winning entry.

Owen J. Roberts High School won the Fan Favorite category. Their plow was chosen by getting the most votes online.

The winning plows were on display at the new Bucks County Maintenance facility in Plumstead Township.

To help raise awareness about the importance of winter driving safety, PennDOT’s District 6 held its Paint the Plow contest for the second consecutive year with 13 area high schools participating.

The community outreach program invites students to paint a PennDOT snow plow blade with original artwork to represent their individual school.

The safety theme this year was “Don’t Rush in Ice and Slush.”

All entries in the Paint the Plow contest will be in service in their respective school’s communities during winter weather months.

The hope is to enhance public awareness, promote safety, and foster greater appreciation of both PennDOT and the school’s art program.
