For several years, PIVOT.Today has been bringing you stories that celebrate the businesses, nonprofits, universities, people, places and events of Delaware County.

Delaware County has left its mark around the world as the people from our local communities spread their ideas and their energy to other parts of the state, the country and the globe.

Their contributions, their enthusiasm, and their pride of achieving have fueled new companies and new ventures here at home and outside the county.

Powerhouse companies like world software provider SAP in Newtown Square and Boeing in Ridley have made Delaware County their place to do business.

Other homegrown businesses like Wawa and Power Home Remodeling in Chester have also set up shop, side by side with the countless mom and pop businesses that drive Delaware County’s economic engine.

Innovators like Marvin Weinberger, who built a device in his Havertown workshop to recharge cell phones by hand and trendsetters like Patrice Banks, who created the Girls Auto Clinic in Upper Darby, catering to the car repair needs of women.

More than 282,000 people work every day in Delaware County. Some attend the finest universities to be found, including Villanova University, Swarthmore College, Widener University and Haverford College.

The compassion and charitable giving from the people of Delaware County has helped others in need, whether it’s forming a nonprofit, promoting a charitable event or creating new products and technologies to ease suffering and improve lives.

There’s a lot to be proud of.

Here at PIVOT.Today, we’ve been able to highlight Delaware County’s rich past, its modern-day successes and the positive experiences that come from living in such a diverse, productive and inventive area.

But still, there’s been something missing.

And so, going forward, we have decided to change the name of PIVOT.Today to DELCO.Today.

We’ve always known that the focus of our site has been about Delaware County and its proud achievements–past, present and future.

Now, everyone who visits us will know it, too.
