A New York hotel development and management company has set up its mid-Atlantic headquarters in Drexel Hill, with the goal of increasing its team as it adds properties, writes Kenneth Hilario for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Prestige Hospitality Group from Albany, N.Y., expanded to the Philadelphia area with an office in Drexel Hill that will serve as home base as it grows an operations footprint in the mid-Atlantic region.

CEO James C. Frenis told the Philadelphia Business Journal the company can expand to at least five employees in the regional office in Drexel Hill.

The office “will grow as we gain more properties to manage,” Frenis said.

Prestige, with the Drexel Hill headquarters, will look for new development and third-party management opportunities in Greater Philadelphia, South Jersey and throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

The group opened two hotels in the past year in Southeastern Pennsylvania– a Holiday Inn & Suites in Drexel Hill and an 87-room Comfort Inn & Suites in Dauphin County. A Home2 Suites by Hilton will open this fall in Ridley Park.

The company manages over 30 hotels in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Michigan and South Carolina.
