It’s a ‘Chef’s Table’ of Local Cuisine at Wayne Senior Center

By

Once a month, a visiting chef shares his secrets with the older adults of the Wayne Senior Center, offering the best that local restaurants have to offer, reports Main Line Media News.

The senior center created its Chef’s Table program to address the nutritional needs of older adults and provide a fun opportunity to enjoy a restaurant meal together.

“The senior center is located in the center of Wayne and we are surrounded by wonderful restaurants. For some older adults it can be difficult for them to eat out—they may be on a limited income, or simply have no one to go out to eat with, said Executive Director Katie Mahon.

The featured chef offers a cooking demonstration of part of the meal they have prepared for the seniors. Meals include braised short ribs from Chef Chris Todd of Christopher’s, dumplings from Chef Margaret Kuo of Margaret Kuo’s, and mustard glazed salmon from Chef Ron Silverberg of The Silverspoon.

Other participating chefs have come from 333 Belrose, Arde Osteria, Cornerstone Bistro,  The Goat’s Beard, and Lumbrada Cocina Mexicana.

The next Chef’s Table is June 17, featuring Chef Angel Salguero of Angelo’s Café.
