Young Scientists to Compete Today at 2019 Science Olympiad at Neumann University

For the sixth year in a row, Neumann University will host hundreds of young scientists in one of the premier science competitions in the nation, the Southeastern PA Science Olympiad Tournament.

Today, Feb. 27, students from more than 50 middle schools and high schools in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties will compete for medals in two age groups (grades 6-9 and grades 9-12) and for a place in the state competition.

Registration begins at 7:15 AM in the Mirenda Center, and event competition runs from 9 AM-3 PM. The day closes with an awards ceremony at 4 PM.

This year, some of the competitions include Battery Buggy, Mousetrap Vehicle, Elastic-Launched Glider, and Roller Coaster.

The Science Olympiad State Final Competition will be held at Juniata College on April 27. The Science Olympiad is an international nonprofit devoted to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest in science, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science education.
