The Foundation for Delaware County, a public charity founded in 2016 and the largest philanthropy serving Delaware County, has elected Nathaniel C. Nichols to its Board of Directors.

Nichols, a resident of Media, retired as a judge of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas in December 2018 after serving since his election in 2011. Nichols was previously Dean of Students and the Director of Clinical Programs at Widener University Delaware Law School.

Nichols has been committed to serving the community throughout his legal career. He served as President of the Board of Directors of the Chester Education Foundation and on the Board of Directors of the Delaware County Housing Coalition, the Delaware County Bar Association, the Domestic Abuse Project, the Palmer House, and the Delaware County Legal Assistance Association.

“We are delighted to welcome Nick Nichols to The Foundation for Delaware County,” said Frances Sheehan, the foundation’s president. “His depth of experience as a leader in the community, along with his involvement serving on several nonprofit boards, will be a real asset as our board continues to develop the strategic direction of Delaware County’s newest community foundation.”
