Springfield Car Dealership’s First Female Auto Tech Earns Internet Fame with Tweet Gone Viral

Jessica Kryssing

Jessica Kryssing recently joined Piazza Honda of Springfield as its first female auto technician, and she quickly earned Internet fame with her “first day of work” tweet that went viral, writes Mónica Marie Zorrilla for Billy Penn.

After noting on Twitter that she will become the first-ever female technician to work at the Delaware County car dealership, Kryssing saw her tweet receive nearly 11,000 re-tweets and close to 120,000 likes.

Most touching for her, though, were other young women who said they felt empowered by her making her way in a traditionally male field.

“It was cool because I’ve never had anybody tell me that before,” she said.

Kryssing has been fascinated with cars since she was seven years old. Over the years, her father taught her a lot about fixing and maintaining cars. Her entire family then supported her when she decided to embark on a career as an auto tech.
