A 25-year Delaware County icon, Johnny Paisano’s restaurant at 226 Baltimore Pike in Springfield, closed its doors at its longtime location April 2 but its owners promise the restaurant is not gone for good, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

“We’re closing our doors here, but we’re not going away by any means,” Johnny Paisano said this week. “We’re just moving locations and we’ll be back with a vengeance!”

In fact, the Italian restaurant’s catering business will be continuing in about two weeks at a temporary location at 662 Leamy Ave. while another restaurant location is found.

Paisano, a Newtown Square resident and former Widener University student, and Wawa operations manager hopes to have the new restaurant up and running in six to nine months.

A social media announcement said the skyrocketing cost of rent in a building needing repairs made them decide to close their current location.

Paisano said he has received 2,000 Facebook responses and hundreds of customers reaching out since the announcement.

“The bottom line is that we really care about our customers,” Paisano said.

Paisano plans to keep the five full-time staff and part-time college and high school workers on the payroll.
