TCF, formerly Taylor Community Foundation, is now The Community’s Foundation.

The name change represents the culmination of a series of organizational changes over the past year, including a merger with the Delaware County Community Foundation (DCCF) in August 2017 and the sale of Taylor Hospice in February 2018.

“One corporate-level transaction of this nature is unusual for a community nonprofit, let alone two,” said TCF President Kurt Slenn. “But we have survived, and thrived. We have maintained our grant commitments, increased the number of TCF Scholars, and grown donations to record levels.”

The name “Taylor” had been integral to the organization since 1997, when TCF first became a community foundation via the sale of Taylor Hospital to the Crozer-Keystone Health System. However, with the addition of the DCCF program, TCF is broadening its geographic service area and broadening its mission to “enhancing and improving the quality of life in your community.”

Moving forward, The Community’s Foundation will maintain its identity as “TCF,” which is associated with various programs like:

  • The Allied Health Scholarship Program with 258 TCF Scholars representing $2.2 million in scholarship awards
  • The Community Grants Program with more than 80 TCF Eligible organizations receiving more than $2 million in grant dollars over time
  • TCF Community Advisory Funds like Vest-A-Cop and Play for the A’s
