The Foundation for Delaware County recently hosted its Inaugural Golf Outing at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield and raised more than $60,000.

A sold-out field of golfers enjoyed a scramble format and prizes for the longest drive and best team, as well as an evening reception.

The winning foursome represented Haverford Trust.

The golf committee is co-chaired by Robert N. Speare and H. Edward Hanway of Media. Committee members include Robert M. Barbacane, Corliss Boggs, Brian Crimmins, Thomas A. DiLiberto, Daniel C. Hagan, Rocco P. Imperatrice, Colleen Morrone, Frances M. Sheehan, Thomas A. Shoemaker, John Spagnola, and Robert F. Stiles.

“We were delighted to have a sold-out tournament and a full field of golfers for The Foundation for Delaware County’s Inaugural Golf Outing at Rolling Green,” said Speare. “The enthusiasm of all of the participants that want to build a stronger nonprofit community and support the Foundation’s efforts to move Delaware County forward is very exciting.

“We are already planning next year’s outing, scheduled for May 20 at Rolling Green.”

A public charity founded in 2016, The Foundation for Delaware County is the largest philanthropy serving Delaware County. Operating as the county’s community foundation, it is headquartered in Media with offices in Chester, Upper Darby, and Springfield.
